Hello, squirrel hunting enthusiasts!

My Name is Malcom Slone and I am so glad you have joined me here to enjoy the sport of squirrel hunting with my Mountain Feist dogs.

I was only 12 years old when I got my first squirrel dog and I well remember, even as a boy, sitting at our home in the fall of the year "talking dogs" with my dad and the rest of my family. Since those early years I have been breeding and training these wonders from the Creator's hand.

These mountain Feists use three sharp senses to tree a bushy tailed squirrel. First, they have very sharp eyes that can detect the slightest movement of a squirrel. Second, their keen noses pick up the unique scent of a squirrel and third, their ears have an uncanny ability to hear a squirrel on the ground or in a tree from unbelievable distances. Over the years I have proven that rigorous mountain training here in Kentucky sharpens all three of these senses and it produces a remarkable squirrel dog that any serious hunter would be proud to own.

I got a call one day from an avid hunter in the State of Alabama who had purchased a Feist that I had trained and he was so impressed with the treeing and staying ability of that dog that he asked to purchase more of my dogs. Since that time Mike Smitherman has partnered with me in my kennel business where I continue to breed and train the dogs as I have done for all these years.

I thank God daily that He has given me life and strength to where I can enjoy the handling and hunting of these fine dogs and I am also able to enjoy His beautiful creation at the same time.
